Getting up late and rushing to school,
And reaching late for prayers,
And sleeping through the history classes;
Those were the days of glory.

Going to the classrooms for evening studies,
And wasting time when one's supposed to study,
And flunking the tests and begging for extra marks,

Debating, Elocution, Drama, and Singing,
Basketball, Football, Cricket and Hockey,
That competition to get the Big Championship,
Those were the days of glory.

Those days of waiting for the Christmas dance,
Those days of waiting for the yearly outing,
Those days of waiting to have a private moment with one's beloved,
Those were the days of glory.
